It has taken me three days to come up with a story where I would change the ending or outcome, and I finally settled on Little Women. I have always loved this story ever since I was a youngster, but the death of Beth always bothered me. She was such a gentle soul and a good person, and I remember crying when I read the chapter where Beth dies. It didn’t seem fair that such a sweet creature should die so young.
So I would change the story. Beth would be taken to a hospital in Boston where there was a famous doctor who could help Beth and cure her illness. Then she would be able to continue to paint and enjoy her sisters, although she would always be in fragile health. But the important part would be that Beth would be able to be a part of her sisters’ lives for many years and rejoice and glory in life for a while longer.
Why do I get the feeling I read a version where the end was changed? I mean, I pretty much remember every book I’ve read and my mind went “wait… she died?!”. Damn school lit… >_<
