Day 6. Favorite Young Adult Book
My favorite young adult book is a book we “older” folks read in our book club. It is The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen.It is a story of a girl whose mother has dies and she returns to her mother’s hometown in North Carolina to live with her grandfather (sort of like Heidi). She meets various characters in the town and a boy she fancies. One of the characters she meets owns a cafe and bakes cakes (the recipes are in the book). There is a mystery in the town as to why her mother left and why there is animosity between a certain family and her grandfather. It is a sweet story about a girl trying to discover what her mother’s life was like before she left the town, never to return. She learns about who her mother really was and makes great friends in the town as she makes peace with her grandfather.
