A Day at the Movies and Some Cleaning, Too

I packed more things for the girls today. I took all the figurines over to their house. I hope that they like them. I packed all the Purple Ladies and Purple Girls, and the Unicorns, except for the one with the broken wing. I just super-glued the dragonfly wind back on to the white unicorn. I’ll take it over tomorrow when it’s dried good. I also found the Noah’s ark animals; maybe I’ll find the Ark in the garage at some point.

We went to see “Black Swan.” I thought it was really good. It was quite erotic in parts; I see why it was rated “R.” But it was good; there was a fine line between reality and schizophrenia. Natalie Portman played the part really well. There was certainly chemistry amongst the cast. It showed the rivalries that go on amongst the dancers quite well, but Natalie Portman played the part of the mentally unbalanced dancer quite well.

Speaking of mentally unbalanced, Clint’s parents and sisters are back in town. Apparently they couldn’t stay in Saudi Arabia any longer because the oldest daughter is too old; she’s 18. They were supposed to go to a job in South Carolina but that job fell through. So now the father has a job at Kelly starting next week. The girls will just stay home and be home schooled, no intention of going to college. One wants to be a missionary. Other than that, they have no ambitions. They have been home-schooled all their lives and can’t really function in the real world. They have been kept very sheltered and can’t imagine any other life. Their parents don’t want them out in the real world, either. Seems to be a little sick, to me.

I picked up packing tape at the CVS when I bought the glue and suedophed. I got a big package so I don’t have to go back there so often. Tomorrow I can pick up my prescriptions at CVS and try to fax those forms to Argosy. I’m still having trouble with my IBS. I guess I will have to call the doctor tomorrow. I don’t know what else to do. It’s been a week now and shows no signs to letting up. Rats.

I’m rereading “The Help” because the discussion is on Friday. It was really a good book. I wonder how people will react to it.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
