When teleportation becomes available, I would like to be able to teleport myself to Florence, Italy, It is my favorite city in the world and I would love to be able to go there whenever I liked. My favorite thing to see there is the Statue of David by Michaelangelo. This piece of art is truly the most beautiful object of art in the world. The expression on David’s face is incredible. The statue represents the moment just before David faces the giant Goliath. You can see the courage in David;s face, but you can also see the trepidation and David’s fear that he may not be able to kill Goliath. That is the amazing part of this statue: that a piece of marble can be carved to show such subtle emotions. I could easily stand and look at this statue all day and not get enough of it.

Florence is a beautiful city with the most amazing art everywhere you go. There are so many churches with incredible frescoes and mosaics throughout the city. And the food is absolutely delicious wherever you stop to eat. The piazzas are pleasant and ever present. There are many museums to see and explore. There are shops where one can buy leather goods and gold. It is truly a fascinating place.

I would then teleport myself to Naples, Italy for dinner. They make the most amazing pizza and you could just eat yourself to death in Naples. I have never had such wonderful food as I have had in Naples. I would also teleport to Venice, Italy: a unique city and one with which you fall in love immediately. St. Mark’s Cathedral has to most incredible mosaics and the entire city has a charm like nowhere else in the world. To finish my teleport journey, I would visit several cities in France and Spain, notably Marseilles, Avignon, and Barcelona. Each city has its own special part in my heart for various reasons. If teleportation were possible, I could visit these wonderful places whenever I felt like it. I can’t wait until the day that teleportation is not only possible but normal activity.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
