A Book That Changed My Life

The book that changed my life was the Noble Qur’an. Even now I read it everyday, but before I concerted to Islam, I read the Our’an and what I read in there intrigued me. It supported everything I believed in from the Gospels in the New Testament and in the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament). It has information about science that could not have been known in the 7th century. It has beautiful sections of poetry. Everything I read in the Qur’an pointed me to the path in life that I felt I should follow. So I was very open to learning more about Islam. It prepared me to accepted Islam as my way of life. Today, it is a special book to me, a sacred text. I believe it is the word of God and that is why I read it daily to learn more about God and what He wants from me in this life. This is the book that has changed my life.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
