Grandma’s Chocolate Pie

You can find this recipe on the Eagle Sweetened Condensed Milk Can, but my grandmother always made it so we called it Grandma’s Chocolate Pie.
3 oz. baking chocolate
1/4 tsp salt
1 can Eagle Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/2 pints of whipping cream
1 unbaked pie shell
2 lbs. of dried beans
Bake the pie shell in a pie plate. Prick the bottom of the shell and fill the plate with dried beans to hold it flat. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden.
Melt the chocolate, salt and milk in a double boiler until chocolate melts and the mixture thickens. Let it cool, then stir in the vanilla. Whip one of the 1/2 pints of cream and fold into the chocolate mixture. Pour into the baked pie shell and chill for 4 hours. Whip the other 1/2 pint of cream and place on top of the pie before serving.
