Truly Surprised

One of the times I remember that I was truly surprised was when my daughter gave me a piece of land in Ireland for Christmas. She had found a place where you could buy a square foot of Ireland. They sent you directions of how to get there is you wanted to visit and a map of where it was.

I am Irish-American and devoted to Ireland and I was so shocked and surprised by her gift. She put it all together in a scrapbook with some other Irish things and gave it to me for Christmas. I was totally shocked and overwhelmed, that she had come up with sich a clever and unique gift fro me. It has been a treasure to me.

I was also surprised when she took me to a lovely spa for a massage last Mother’s Day. That was truly special. And this year, she gave me a lovely necklace of a heart with diamonds. It is beautiful. But I don’t think anything other than a trip to Ireland could top the piece of Ireland that I own.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
