2/3 cup of butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 2/3 cups of milk
2 1/3 cups of flour
1 cup of cornmeal
4 1/2 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of salt
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt.
Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar, alternating with the milk mixture.
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Pour mixture into a greased 13″ x 9″ x 2″ pan. Bake for 22-27 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cut into 12 squares. Serve warm.
