Do you enjoy traveling or staying at home?

This one is difficult. I enjoy traveling to places I have always wanted to go and I also don’t mind traveling to visit my relatives back East because I see them so rarely. I once went by myself on a cruise in the Mediterranean. I flew to Barcelona and then we cruised to Nice and Monaco, Florence, Venice, Croatia, Sicily, Rome, and Marseilles, then back to Barcelona. I loved it. I saw so many wonderful places, met great people, and had a wonderful time in general. I don’t mind traveling alone since I’m a loner by nature and by traveling alone, I can do whatever I want.

On the other hand, I am a stay at home person. Once I get home, I don’t want to go out. I can find many things to amuse myself at home, especially reading or using the computer. I put off going to the store or doing errands as long as I can because I am such a homebody. I love being home with my dogs and doing whatever I want.

I guess I’m a pretty selfish person because I’ve used the term “doing whatever I want” twice in this post. But it is true. I don’t like people dictating to me what to do, at home or traveling, or going somewhere. I am really an introvert and given a choice, I prefer to be alone, with my dogs. I hate to have to board the dogs when I travel. I miss them so much. But I do enjoy seeing my family and doing things with my granddaughters. That’s not really travelling but that’s where my head is.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
