Songs on a Desert Island

Day 3. The five songs you would have with you on a desert island and why.

1. Wild Child by Enya: I just like this song by Enya, who is one of my favorite singer-songwriters.
2. Gloria by Vivaldi: This is a lengthy piece of music but very beautiful and one of my favorite pieces of music ever since I saw the Mark Morris Dance Company perform a wonderful dance to this music.
3. Nothing Compares 2 U by Sínead O’Connor: This song reminds me of my first marriage which ended badly but I still care very much about my ex-husband.
4. Serve Somebody by Bob Dylan: I like this song because it is a truthful song. We all have to serve someone or somebody.
5. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen: This is one of the best rock songs of all time. I couldn’t do without it.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.

I have to disagree with #4. Sinead O’Connor. But great list!

Disco…. You need to have a Disco song! After a few months on that Island, staring at the sand all day long, you are gonna need some Disco to lighten the mood…… Just a thought….. 🙂
