The Best Idea

I have to admit, I have not had a “best idea.” I like the ideas of others, and I have some good idea myself, but nothing that could be considered “the best.” I once wrote to President George Bush about immigration and quoted Portia’s soliloquy from The Merchant of Venice, which begins, “The quality of mercy is not strained….”I thought that was a good idea but I didn’t think he would read it or take it seriously. My daughter was horrified and thought the Secret Service would have me investigated. But I thought it was a good idea and the least I could do to express my opinion.

Sometimes I have good ideas about going to the movies or out to eat at a restaurant. I also have good ideas about our political situation and the economy, but I wouldn’t call them the “best” idea. This is a very broad topic and I’m a rather localized gal. I don’t think in grand terms. So this prompt is a dud for me.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
