Changing My Life

Day 9. A moment, phrase or song that has changed your life.

A moment that changed my life was when my first ex-husband told me he wanted to separate. This changed my life because I became a single parent with a 2 year old daughter to raise. For the next 15 years, I was the parent who raised this young girl. My entire life was devoted to her and her upbringing. I would have never at that moment thought that I could do it, but I did. And I did a good job, I think. She never wanted for anything. She went to ballet lessons and performances for most of those years. I helped her with school work. I lived for her, and I will never regret it.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
