Redecorating

If you could change the decorations in one room in your house, which would it be?

I would redo my living room. I would get an entertainment center for my tv and that would leave me a lot of space for dvds and other things. I would also get rid of my futon sofa and chair and get real furniture: a love seat sofa bed and chair. I have a very small living room and that would make the space seem bigger. I would get better lighting, too. I would get curtains for the window instead of just the blinds to pretty it up. I would try to move the dog crate into the kitchen which is now in the living room and takes up a lot of room but that would mean I would have to clean out the kitchen (I would, I swear). The dog is used to the crate now so that wouldn’t be an issue. But I would like to have a living room that I could enjoy since I spend so much time there. I could make the curtains myself out of silk and dye them to match the sofa and chair and stencil a design on them, since I like to do that. That would make it truly mine.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.

Yes, the living room is so important because you spend so much time there. You do spend a lot of time in the bedroom, but your eyes are closed and when in the kitchen, you’re too busy concentrating on what you’re doing to really care about decor.
