Technology and Writing

Does technology help you write?

Of course technology helps me write. I use the word processing program in Word Press to write my blog and I use the word processing program in Blog Spot to write my personal journal. If I didn’t use technology I would be still filling up journals with long-hand written tomes of my writings. The technology on Word Press allows my blog to be seen by hundreds, perhaps thousands (yeah, right), of people and commented on by them and I can then interact with them and have a conversation with them. Technology has definitely changed the way I write; I used to post to Facebook but no longer do because my daughter could see my blog and it upset her and caused hard feelings. So even though I could get more traffic and open my blog to other relatives through Facebook, I pulled it down to spare the feelings of my daughter. It caused more trouble than it was worth. So now my blog is out there for those who want to see it if they care to find it, which, knowing my relatives, are not too many people. But I have my loyal blog followers. Technology definitely helped me find them.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
