Learning Languages

Are there any other languages you wish you could speak?

Lord, yes! I wish I could speak Spanish fluently instead of my stumbling, piddling nearly incoherent Spanish. I live in San Antonio and so many people here speak Spanish. Our signs are in both English and Spanish. To get a really good job, you should be bilingual. I would love to be able to speak Spanish well. I feel I would fit in better with the community. I would be of better service to the organization CASA which helps abused children if I were to speak Spanish fluently. I would be more of the fabric of the city if I could speak Spanish. I always promise myself I will learn Spanish but I never do. Maybe that should be my New Year’s resolution–to learn Spanish.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
