Weekly Photo Challenge–Winter

I live in south Texas. It’s winter here in south Texas and we had temperatures in the 30s and 40s this week but today is windy and in the 50s. This is winter for us. No snow, no ice, no blizzards. Just bare trees, brown leaves still hanging on the oak trees, mistletoe in the trees, dreary weather. Winter in south Texas.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.

You have a beautiful home, young lady.

  2. Ah yes! Winter in south Texas! How well I remember my Beaumont winters. Christmas day always seemed to be about 42 degrees F and raining! I was always colder in that weather than any New England sub-zero winters or western North Carolina mountain winters I have experienced. We are supposed to get our first significant snow fall this week. It has been a weird winter so far. Much warmer than usual and very rainy – so I have been reminded of Beaumont a lot recently.

    Happy 2012!

I see snow is on the way for some of Texas.
