Giving or Receiving?

Which do you enjoy more, giving or receiving?

I enjoy giving gifts to my friends and family more than receiving gifts. I like to figure out what to give my loved ones, what things they might like, and get it for them and I even enjoy wrapping the gifts up for them. I feel funny about receiving gifts. I feel as if I don’t deserve the gifts. It’s a psychological problem, I know. So often, my family buys things for me that I’ll never use or I don’t need; I feel like they don’t really know me. I would rather they didn’t give me anything. I much prefer giving gifts.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.

Giving is pretty cool, I guess.
I like receiving as well, though!
