Six Word Saturday

I’m off to the movies today.

Since part of my book and film challenge is to watch 25 films this year and I don’t often go to see films, I figure I better get cracking. So I’m either going to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows if I can take the granddaughters with me. They can’t see the former because it’s rated R and a bit too mature for them anyway. Not to their taste. I read the book and liked it so I thought I’d see it even though it has disturbing parts. I haven’t taken the girls to the films in ages with the holidays and all and now they are practicing their driving on the weekends. I could let them drive to and from the theather either today or tomorrow if we go tomorrow but I am going to one show today.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.

  1. The Larsson trilogy is fabulous – I read all three as they came out in the US. (I was interested because I am of Swedish heritage). Lately, on Amazon Prime (also on Netflix Instant, I think), I watch the subtitled Swedish versions of all three of the films and I liked them very much! I am curious to see the US version of the first – I understand that it does a more literal take, whereas the Swedish ones take a few liberties with some of the books, for the sake of time. They are like the books, quite explicit and violent, though! They were not particularly well received in the US, but I really liked them, and they brought to mind some of the gorgeous scenery of Sweden – especially in winter!

Whatever you decide on – let us know all about it!

    Sherlock Holmes was FANTASTIC!
I haven’t seen the other one, but I hear it’s quite good actually…
