A-Z Challenge, B is for Books

A to z Challenge, B is for Books

Books, books, books! I love books! Books of any kins. Hardcover, paperback, eBooks, iBooks, it doesn’t matter. I love books. I have another challenge going to read 50 books this year. I have already read 5 so this is a piece of cake. A walk in the park. I just love to read. I usually have 3 or 4 books going at once. The last few weeks, however, AI have been zipping through books in the Marcus Didius Falco mystery series by Lindsey Davis one at a time. But right now I have three going– a Falco mystery, a Jan Austen, and one other. I actually had had the Jane Austen going for a while. I can pick it up and put it down at will. I have loved to read since I was a tiny girl. One of the highlights of my life, I remember, was coming home from school and my grandmother coming to the house and I am sitting in my rocking chair and screaming, “Grandma, I can read!” When I had a birthday or Christmas I always got books. And I was always happy. I escaped to many far away places in my books. I have visited archaeological site in my books. I have time traveled to ancient Rome, to ancient Egypt, to the turn of the century, to the American southwest, to almost anywhere you can think of in my reading. Did I mention I love books?

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
