Book and Film Challenge Update

I have finished my sixth book in my challenge. It was The Harbinger: The ancient mystery that holds the secret of America’s future by Jonathan Cahn. This is not my usual genre of reading but I decided to try it. It was interesting and kept my attention. It compares the judge=ment prophecy of Isaiah 9:10 with the events of September 11 and our vow to rebuild our nation but not return to the ways of God. In fact it references many US dignitaries quoting this passage without realizing that it is a judgment prophecy; the ancient Jew promised to rebuild but did not promise to return to God and therefore God promised to cast His judgment on them. The Vice-President, Senators, and President who quoted this passage obviously did not understand the judgment part of the passage. They only got the rebuild part. The harbingers (there are nine of them) parallel the events of the passage and the events of 9/11, and the book goes through them in a narrative style, with the author meeting a mysterious prophet who guides him through the meanings of the harbingers, It is a fascinating book, whose main message is that our nation needs to be called back to belief in God and focus on prayer, unless more calamities such as global financial collapse (the second judgment to have occurred) happen. Six down, 44 to go.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
