A-Z Challenge; K is for Kurti

A to Z Challenge; K is for Kurti

I wear a kurti every day. A kurti is a south Indian article of clothing that is a top with long sleeves and has a long, usually hip-length drop. I am Muslim so I don’t wear regular Western tops such as tees so I wear kurtis. They are extremely comfortable and usually decorated very beautifully. I order mine from Islamic clothing stores here in the States and most are made in Pakistan. They are great for doing Tai Chi because they are loose-fitting and it is easy to move in them. They come in many different colors and designs and I have quick a collection. Some are quite pretty. Some are great for everyday wear. I’m glad I’ve chosen to wear these with my jeans as my everyday wear.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
