A-Z Challenge; Q is for Quiet

A to Z Challenge; Q is for Quiet

I am reading a book called Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. I was drawn to this book because I am an introvert and normally a quiet person. I used to be extremely shy, but I’m better by now. However, I’m not good at small talk at gatherings and dinner parties, etc. I was glad to find out through this book that introverts tend to like to write (yay for us bloggers) and are empathetic. There are good things about quiet people. We tend to listen to people. We think a lot. We are strong but silent people. Introverts are quiet but not necessarily antisocial people. We deal well with people when the occasion occurs when we must. This book, which I haven’t finished yet so it doesn’t contribute yet to my Book and Fil Challenge, has made me feel better about being a quiet, introverted person. It’s okay to be the way I am and to “fake it” as an extrovert when I have to, as long as I have my quiet space to come back to.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
