Six Word Saturday

My granddaughters’ dance competition is today.

Well, it’s sort of a dance competition. My granddaughters are on the Pep Squad at their school and this is a regional competition where they do a dance routine and compete against other high school Pep Squads in the region. They are performing two dances, but get this. The first one is at 9:14 this morning and the second is at 4:45 this afternoon. We are going to the 9:14 routine and may go back for the later one (or not; depends on my daughter’s mood). The competition is held at a high school not too far from our home (7 miles or so) but we are NOT staying all day even though the girls have to. I have to meet my daughter at 8:30 at her house and go over with her. She will have taken the girls over earlier to get ready for their performance. It’s what you do when you’re a grandmother, even when it gets to be a bit crazy like today is. I have errands to run after the performance anyway so I would have had to go out anyway this morning. I’m just glad to see the girls perform.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
