Book and Film Challenge Update

The seventh film I saw was The Artist. It was absolutely fabulous. It was without a doubt one of the most entertaining films I have seen in my life. It is a silent film in black and white about a silent film star who cannot make the transition from silent films to “talkies.” It chronicles his downfall in life as he loses everything he has earned from being a star to becoming a nobody in Hollywood. But he has a guardian angel actress who adores him and is watching out for him and trying to help him. In the end she finds a way to help him make the transition to the new media without giving up his principles. Seven down, eighteen to go.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
