Book and Film Challenge Update

The eighth film I saw for the challenge was The Lorax. Of all the Dr. Seuss books out there, this is one book I had never read but it was a favorite of my granddaughters so we went to see it. According to my granddaughters, it was nothing like the book. A story had been created around the stroy of the book, but they liked it because the story fit well with the message of the book, which is a heavily environmental message. The Lorax speaks for the trees. The message of the movie and the book is that we need to save our trees because they prove us with clean air, and that message came through loud and clear in the movie. The musical numbers in the movie were catchy and my granddaughters gave their approval to those. All in all, the consensus was that this was a good movie. Eight down, seventeen to go.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
