Making Decisions

Would you rather make decisions alone or would you rather try to work them out with another person?

It all depends. Most decisions I prefer to make on my own, but major decisions, particularly if they involve relationships, I value having the input from my therapist. He is a very wise man and I value his opinion and he sees things from a perspective that I often times have not considered. I may not follow his advice, but I always take it into consideration and we together may come to a compromise decision about the situation. He has helped me more than I can say. His advice doesn’t always work; the relationships I seek his advice about are extremely complicated and even though he knows quite a bit about the people involved, people don’t always respond in the way we think they will. I consider myself to be so lucky to have this man in my life to help me make decisions about relationship and other major decisions.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.

At least you have a trusted support system in place; most people don’t!
