High Noon on Christmas

the-muppets-christmas-carolWhat was I doing or thinking about at high noon on Christmas? Well, I wasn’t thinking about much because I was watching The Muppets’ Christmas Carol movie. I love that movie and think that it’s the best A Christmas Carol movie that has ever been made. And while I was doing that I was knitting a cowl for one of my granddaughters for Little Christmas (January 6). It was supposed to be for Christmas but I only got one finished in time (I made two others but didn’t like how they turned out) and since I have twin granddaughters and can’t give one a gift without giving the other a gift…you get the picture. Plus I never got the other one blocked in time anyway. So I still have 12 days left to finish this cowl and get them both blocked.

I suppose I was also thinking about not being with my daughter and her family. But we were together last night for our Christmas Eve celebration so I shouldn’t complain. I did text her “Merry Christmas” but never heard back. I did hear from one of the granddaughters who got Coach shoes so she was pretty happy. I asked if I could stop over later and buy chocolate bars from them for their Pep Squad but she texted back that later in the week would be better. I’m sure that was my daughter talking. Sometimes there is a thing as too much togetherness.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
