Daily Prompt–Ghostwriter

If you could have any author –living or dead – write your biography, who would you choose?

If I could choose any author to write my biography, I would like Doris Kearns Goodwin to write my biography. I think she is the finest biographer of our age and although my biography is nowhere near the types of opus she is used to writing, I think she would do it justice.

doris-kearns-goodwinMs. Goodwin has written the biographies of the Kennedys, Lyndon Johnson, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and is working on a biography of Theodore Roosevelt. She was a speech-writer for Lyndon Johnson. She is widely known for her journalism and fairness. I would want her to delve into my past and I woud talk to her about my life and tell her my stories. She could write them better than I could ever write them and tell them in a way that I could not. She could engage the reader and pull them into the story of my life.

If you are going to have a biography written, why not have the best biographer write it? And I can think of no better biographer than Doris Kearns Goodwin.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
