Daily Prompt–Do Not Disturb

How do you manage your online privacy? Are there certain things you won’t post in certain places? Information you’ll never share online? Or do you assume information about you is accessible anyway?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us PRIVATE.

When I go online, I just assume that NOTHING I write or do is private. So I don’t share anything that I’m not comfortable about sharing. I don’t share my telephone number, for example. I don’t share my credit card number unless I’m purchasing something. I don’t give out my address unless it’s in a private way through a private message or an email. I certainly don’t post personal information in my Facebook status.

facebookMy Facebook status rarely gets updated. I comment on friends’ statuses and I play games but I do not often update my status. I really don’t have much to say. I wish friends happy birthday and comment on their lives and photos. But I don’t have a lot of information to share with the world.

I am registered at Google + and Linked In but I rarely use either of these. So I rarely share information on these two sites. I guess I’m just not into social media very much. Facebook is the only social media that I check regularly and that is because my relatives are on it and I want to keep up with them and my friends are also on it. I want to keep up with my friends and relatives so I stay on Facebook. But I don’t share much information about myself.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
