If you had the opportunity to live a nomadic life, traveling from place to place, would you do it? Do you need a home base? What makes a place “home” to you?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us MOVING.
I swear that we just had the other side of this prompt the other day. About how we would be a nomad without a home base. I wrote about it. At least I thought I did.
Anyway, I would like to live a nomadic lifestyle if I had a home base. I would like to take my dogs with me. That would be the deal-breaker for me. They would have to come with me wherever I went. They are important to me and I couldn’t leave them for an extended period of time.
I also would like to return home every now and then. Home is the place you always come back to. It’s the place where all your “stuff” is. It’s the place where your family is. That’s home. That’s where my home is. That’s where I would come back to. I would need to reconnect to the people and places I love.
Traveling the world would be fun. Especially with my dogs. There are many places I would love to see and many things I would like to do. But periodically I would need to come back to my family and to my own place. To reconnect with myself. To recharge my batteries. To be myself. With my family.
So, yes, I’d like to be a nomad for a while. But I’d also make sure that I returned to my home base every now and then to touch base with my family and myself. The dogs would like being home too, I think.
