Daily Prompt–Origin Story

Why did you start you blog? Is that will why you blog, or has your site gone in a different direction than you’d planned?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us BEGINNINGS.

When I started my blog, I originally intended to write about my life, such as it is, just as the title of the blog suggests. I planned to just write about my life. I didn’t really have any grand plans for what I would cover in the blog.

The blog has sort of evolved. I have done an A to Z challenge. I usually write to the Daily Prompts, which give me the opportunity to write about my life. They give a picture into some aspect of my life. So I guess that the original idea of my blog remains even today.

The other part of my blog that is important and an important part of my life is my Book Challenge Update. I have set myself a challenge of reading 125 books this year and for each book read, I write a review of the book in my blog. So far I have published 104 reviews. It looks like I will certainly meet my goal and even surpass it. Maybe I’ll go on to 150 books. The book reviews have met with good reader comments. The book reviews are an important part of my life. They are the closure as I finish a book and publish what I feel about the book. They are part of my life, so they are part of my blog.

So I guess my blog has remained true to its original conception. It still is “My Life, Such As It Is.”

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
