Five Question Friday–Two Days Late

1. What is one grammar issue you cannot let go without correction?

I have a bunch that I hate: missplaced apostrophes; missued their, there, and they’re; those are my most hated, I guess. I also hate the it’s and its but I don’t see them that much.

2. What’s your favorite thing about fall?

My favorite thing is cooler weather. By that I mean it’s not 100 degrees F anymore, more like 80s and low 90s which I can stand. It’s nicer in November when it gets down to the 50s in the morning and I actually have to wear a jacket when I take the dogs out. The rain we get during the fall is nice, too. We really need rain and fall is our rainy season. Football is a good reason to like fall too.

3. What’s your favourite dish to take to a potluck?

Deviled eggs. I make good deviled eggs and they’re easy to make and they are one of my favorite foods.

4. When do you start Christmas (Holiday) shopping?

I started already, or at least started thinking about it. I know what I want to buy for my daughter–just haven’t ordered it yet. The granddaughters are a little more difficult; their birthday is in the beginning of December and I have gotten their birthday gifts. Now I have to work on their Christmas gifts. I already know what I’m getting my sister and brother and son-in-law.

5. Did you move homes a lot growing up?

No, I only moved once between the time I was born and through university. My parents stayed in that home all their lives. My father built the house when I was 18 months old and the house was not sold until years after my mother’s death.

About mairedubhtx

I am a "youngish" grandmother of 15 year old twin granddaughter who has recently (is a year "recent"?) adopted Islam as my way of life, much to the consternation of my family. I love to read. I love to write. I am writing a book about my decision to revert, about my spiritual journey. I have another blog about stories from my youth, my parents, and grandparents. It's a blog so my OCD daughter will not be able to throw it out when I die. I suffer from depression and anxiety, for which I am treated, so my posts may be a bit dark at times. C'est la vie.
